This painting depicts the Shiva phallus flanked by peacocks on either side. It also shows a tribal praying to the phallus. In the tribal mythology, the peacock was cursed by Lord Shiva when it became too proud about being the most beautiful bird. According to the curse, the peacock must shed its feathers once every year. The tribal people go around collecting these feathers in the jungle and use it for various purposes which include prayers and tantric activities.
