The Jabalpur Garment and Fashion Design Cluster is nearing completion. Few major players have started furnishing their units, while some are waiting for the right time. Amongst 250 units in the cluster, the work of interior furnishing is nearing completion and by the start of new year 2017, in some units, production would be started.
To showcase the products of Jabalpur Readymade Garment and Fashion Cluster, a window corner would be developed in Common Facilitation Centre building. Besides availability of fresh stock, with design and material being used in different units, the corner would be a first exposure point for the readymade garment buyers and also for the suppliers of different material. The initiative would be the exposure point for new entrants in this sector about the work culture, pattern of dealings, trends and taste of the industry. This centre would help young ones in establishing new enterprise related to readymade garment manufacturing, processing, packaging, marketing or designing of apparel.
The apparel and textile industry is the priority sector for Jabalpur Smart City and in this huge employment generation, direct and indirect employment is targeted. For the fulfillment of the cluster, authorities are planning to hold special training for freshers, who are inclined towards textile and apparel sector enterprise.
Jabalpur Garment and Fashion Design Cluster, Managing Director, Shrayansh Jain said that conventionally, the cloth tailoring work is recognised as garment industry. With changing time, lifestyle constraints and market trends, the unorganised sector of tailoring is taking shape as a skill and mass labour is required in commercial production centres.
In coming month of November, the processing centre, with all modern amenities, would be developed. The centre would provide assistance to entrepreneurs in preparing their apparel design samples and also provide space for display.
