“JABALPUR Smart City Company Limited and Gun For Glory Shooting Academy, Jabalpur, has taken an initiative to tap talent of the city in shooting. For the same, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between both the organisations,” informed Mayor Dr Swati Godbole while addressing a press conference on Saturday. She said a ‘centre of excellence’ will be developed in the city which will have all the facilities for shooters to prepare themselves for international level competitions and for Olympics too.
Dr Godbole said Jabalpur has great talent in the field of shooting. Recently, Mahima Turhi Agrawal brought laurels to the city by winning an international shooting competition. She won the title by defeating China. She informed that Smart City Company Limited will develop infrastructure and Shooting Academy will provide training and guidance to shooters.
Informing about MoU she said the initiative has been taken to provide needed platform to children to further hone their skills in shooting. She said shooting range of 10 mts, 25 mts and 50 mts will be developed at the centre which will probably be developed within Ranital sports complex premises. Shooting academy is an initiative of Gagan Narang Sports Promotion Foundation. Collector Mahesh Chandra Choudhary, SP M S Sikarwar, Municipal Commissioner Ved Prakash and other office-bearers of Smart City Limited were also present.
